Starting Pay: $17.00/hr.
Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm

The Washington County Board of Commissioners is seeking to hire an Assistant Public Works Coordinator for the Road Department located at 1862 Kaolin Road, Sandersville, GA 31082.

The successful candidate will perform a variety of administrative tasks, office support, shop support, and other activities for the Road Department. This position is under the direct supervision of the Public Work Director. The position requires proficiency in the following:

Responsibilities

Record keeping and maintenance of files
Communication with the public
Microsoft Word and Excel
Preparing invoices and charge-outs
Maintaining inventory (ordering parts/items for the shop)
Scheduling maintenance and repairs

Job Skills

Strong clerical and organizational skills.
Strong public and interpersonal skills.
Good knowledge of proper fiscal management.
Knowledge of business English, spelling, and arithmetic
Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures

Education and Experience

Completion of a high school course of study, or its recognized equivalent.
Additional training may be included or supplemented including general clerical work, handling and accounting for cash.
